The Weber Traveler is a portable gas grill for people who want a full family-size cooking area at the campsite, beach car park or a small garden. Instead of being carried like a tabletop grill, it rides on its own folding wheeled trolley that opens to cooking height and folds flat for the boot. That trolley, plus a 63 x 34 cm grate, is what separates it from the compact Q models.

In its favour
- The largest cooking area of the portable grills here at 2,065 cm², enough for a family meal.
- The wheeled trolley opens and folds in seconds, so it rolls rather than being carried.
- Porcelain-enamelled cast iron grates and a lid thermometer, as on Weber's garden grills.
Good to know
- At 21.1 kg it is heavy to lift into a car boot compared with the Q 1100N or Go-Anywhere.
- The listing does not say which gas cartridge or bottle connection is supplied for the UK.
Our take
Trolley, size and storage
Weber says the trolley opens and folds in seconds, and the item highlight mentions an automatic lid lock for transport. Folded, Amazon lists it at about 35 x 50 x 150 cm, which suits a car boot laid lengthways, a garage wall or a shed corner. In use, it stands at a comfortable height with no table needed.
The weight is 21.1 kg. You can wheel it easily, but lifting it into a high boot is a two-handed job.
Burner and grates
A single burner delivers 3.8 kW, the most of the Weber portables in this guide, which helps on breezy campsites where heat gets blown away. The cooking grates are porcelain-enamelled cast iron, covering 63 x 34 cm, or 2,065 cm² in the spec sheet. That is room for a whole family meal in one go.
An integrated lid thermometer shows the temperature, which is useful for roasting with the lid down.
Gas supply, spares and warranty
The listing does not state which gas cartridge or bottle connection comes in the UK box, so confirm before your first trip. No assembly is required. Weber states five years of EU spare parts availability, and the manufacturer warranty is two years.
With only one burner, true two-zone indirect cooking is limited, so it is best for direct grilling of burgers, sausages, steaks and vegetables.
Traveler against the Q range
The Weber Q 1100N is far lighter at 9.1 kg with a 1,290 cm² grill, but needs a table. The Weber Q2200 has a 54 x 39 cm grill and fold-out side tables, at 19.7 kg, also as a tabletop. The Weber Spirit E-310 is a garden grill with three burners and 2,326 cm², but it is not portable.
Verdict
The Traveler suits families who camp or tour and want a big grill with its own stand that folds away. If weight is the main concern, the Weber Q 1100N is half as heavy, and if you only need a tabletop grill with side tables for the garden, the Weber Q2200 is a practical alternative.
