Our take
Bowl, grate and capacity
The bowl and lid are porcelain-enamelled for rust resistance and heat retention, with the coals positioned close to the food to help searing. Weber specifies a plated steel grate covering 2,342 cm², which it says serves six to eight people.
Amazon's spec line also shows a cooking area of 57 square centimetres, an obvious mix-up with the 57 cm diameter.
Controlling the fire
There are two adjustable dampers: one in the bowl to feed air to the coals and one in the lid to let heat out. Opening both makes the fire hotter, while closing them down slows it. The lid thermometer shows the result, so you can adjust without lifting the lid and losing heat. Small changes work best: move a damper a little, wait several minutes, then check the dial again before adjusting further.
Cleaning and the small conveniences
Weber's One-Touch cleaning system uses a lever to sweep ash through vents into a removable catcher below. The lid hook means you are not looking for a heatproof spot to put a hot lid down, and tool hooks keep tongs within reach.
The grate is plated steel and not hinged, so adding coals during a long cook means lifting the grate. Weber states five years of EU spare parts availability, and the warranty figure listed is ten. Assembly is required.
Premium, base model or Master-Touch?
The Original Kettle E-5710 is the base 57 cm kettle at 12.8 kg with One-Touch cleaning and a deep ash catcher, but no lid thermometer mentioned. The Master-Touch Premium E-5770 adds a folding stainless GBS grate at 24 kg. The 70th Anniversary Kettle is a metal grey 57 cm edition focused on styling.
Verdict
Pick the Original Kettle Premium if you want the classic 57 cm Weber with a thermometer, lid hook and easy ash removal at a light weight. If you plan to refuel often or use GBS inserts, the Master-Touch Premium E-5770 is the better kettle, while the Original Kettle E-5710 covers the basics if you can live without a thermometer.
