The Spirit EP-425 Mix is a four-burner Weber gas barbecue that shares its cooking surface between a grill and a griddle. It is for families and hosts who want to cook breakfast, seafood and smash burgers as easily as steaks. What distinguishes it within the Spirit range is the enamelled cast iron surface and a feature Weber calls Boost Mode.

Our take
A one-line listing
The Amazon listing has a single bullet: Boost Mode. It does not explain what that does, so read Weber's description before counting on it. The specifications fill in the rest: four main burners, 8.2 kW, two racks, a 2,745 cm² cooking area, enamelled cast iron and stainless steel construction and a weight of 55.9 kg. Assembly is required.
Weber states a ten-year availability period for EU spare parts, which is worth having on a grill of this weight and cost to ship.
Grill plus griddle
A 2,745 cm² surface split between bars and a flat plate gives real flexibility. The griddle takes eggs, pancakes, onions and fish; the grill handles steaks, sausages and chicken. With four burners, each half can run at its own temperature.
Enamelled cast iron holds heat well, which helps the griddle stay hot when you add a batch of cold food.
Power and placement
The stated 8.2 kW is lower than other four-burner grills in this guide, such as the Weber Genesis E-415 at 14 kW. Whether Boost Mode makes up the difference is not stated. At 55.9 kg, the EP-425 needs a fixed, level spot on the patio. A level stance matters more than usual with a griddle, because fat and juices need to run towards the drain rather than pooling at one corner of the plate. If you have the choice, place it near the kitchen door, since griddle cooking tends to involve more trips for oil, spatulas and plates than plain grilling.
EP-425 versus its neighbours
The Weber Spirit E-425 Mix Griddle has the same 8.2 kW, four burners and a griddle, with an enclosed cabinet and Snap-Jet ignition listed. The Weber Spirit E-310 drops to three burners and a grill-only 2,326 cm² surface. The Weber Genesis II E-310 GBS offers a larger 3,456 cm² grill plus a side burner.
Verdict
The Spirit EP-425 suits families who want grill and griddle cooking on an enamelled cast iron surface, with Weber's long parts support behind it. If you need more stated power for big crowds, the Weber Genesis E-415 is the stronger grill, and if you only ever grill, the Spirit E-310 is lighter and simpler.
