The Spirit E-425 Mix Griddle splits a four-burner Weber gas barbecue between a grill and a flat griddle. It is for families who cook breakfasts, smash burgers, fish and vegetables outdoors as often as steaks and sausages. That mixed cooking surface is the defining feature, backed by an enclosed cabinet that hides the gas bottle.

In its favour

  • The listing names both griddle and grill cooking, so you can cook eggs and burgers side by side.
  • An enclosed cabinet keeps the gas bottle and tools out of sight and out of the rain.
  • Four burners and Snap-Jet ignition, which Weber describes as fast and secure lighting.

Good to know

  • The listing does not state the cooking area, so compare the grate size on Weber's page.
  • At 57 kg it is one of the heavier grills here and needs a level, permanent spot.

Our take

What Weber lists

The listing is short: four stainless steel burners, 8,200 W of total power, Snap-Jet ignition that Weber calls ultra-fast and secure, and Flavorizer bars. The specs add the griddle and grill cooking system, an enclosed cabinet and a 57 kg weight.

Weber does not give the cooking area in this listing, so compare grate and griddle sizes on Weber's own page if the exact surface matters to you.

Why a griddle changes what you cook

A griddle is a solid steel plate. Food that would fall through grill bars or stick to them, such as eggs, pancakes, onions, prawns and delicate fish, cooks evenly on it. Smash burgers in particular need a flat, very hot surface.

With four burners, you can run the griddle side at one temperature and the grill side at another. Flavorizer bars sit under the grill section to vaporise drips into flavour and reduce flare-ups.

Ignition, cabinet and setup

Snap-Jet ignition lights each burner individually, which is handy when you only want part of the grill running. The enclosed cabinet keeps the gas bottle out of sight and gives somewhere to store tools.

The listing says no assembly is required. At 57 kg, though, this is a grill to place once on a level patio rather than move about. Make sure there is clearance around it and that the patio surface is flat, since a griddle needs to sit level for fat to drain properly.

Spirit E-425 or a straight grill?

The Weber Spirit E-310 drops a burner and the griddle, uses an open cart and weighs 48 kg, with its 2,326 cm² area stated. The Weber Genesis E-415 lists 14 kW from four PUREBLU burners for faster high-heat work. The Campingaz 4 Series Classic WLD offers four burners at 12.8 kW.

Verdict

The Spirit E-425 Mix Griddle is a strong match for families who want griddle cooking alongside a traditional grill and like a tidy enclosed cabinet. If you only grill, the Spirit E-310 is simpler and lighter, and if maximum heat for big gatherings is the priority, the Weber Genesis E-415 offers more stated power.
