The Masterbuilt 710 WiFi Digital Smoker takes the brand's vertical cabinet and connects it to an app. That suits anyone who likes the idea of a twelve hour pork shoulder but not the idea of standing in the garden checking it. You set the cook from your phone, get alerts and see probe temperatures wherever you are, while a side loader keeps smoke coming without opening the door.

In its favour
- The Masterbuilt app sets temperature and time, sends alerts and shows meat probe readings remotely.
- A side wood chip loader adds smoke without opening the door.
- Four chrome-coated racks give 711 sq in of space for ribs, chicken or pork butts.
Good to know
- The plug type and voltage are not given in the listing, so check before ordering.
- The 135 °C top temperature suits smoking only, not grilling or crisping skin.
Our take
The app is the point
According to the listing, the Masterbuilt app lets you set smoking temperature and time, receive alerts and monitor meat probes remotely, and it also offers recipes. The digital panel on the smoker covers the same settings if your phone is elsewhere.
The set range runs from 100 to 275 °F, which is about 38 to 135 °C. That is a smoking range. It will not crisp chicken skin or sear a steak, so plan on finishing those on a grill if you like a firmer crust.
Space, racks and chips
Four chrome-coated racks give 711 square inches of cooking area. The cabinet is about 57 cm wide, 58 cm deep and 103 cm tall, and it weighs 26.9 kg. That is enough for several racks of ribs or a couple of whole chickens in one go.
Masterbuilt's patented side wood chip loader is the other practical feature. Every time a cabinet door opens, heat and smoke escape and the cook slows down, so being able to feed chips from the side is a real benefit on a long session.
Compared with the 40-inch and 30-inch models
The Masterbuilt 40-inch Digital offers more than 970 square inches but no stated app control. The Masterbuilt 30-inch Digital with legs has almost the same rack area as the 710 and adds a window and air damper, but no Wi-Fi. The 710 sits between them, with the same capacity as the 30-inch and the remote control the others lack.
The listing is odd in one respect: the brand field reads Kamado Joe, while the title and model number are Masterbuilt. Treat the model number MB20072124 as the reference when you check details.
Power and plug
The listing says you plug it in and start cooking, but it does not give a voltage or plug type. Confirm with the seller that it is a UK 230 V unit before buying. You will also need a stable home Wi-Fi signal where the smoker stands for the app to work.
Verdict
The 710 WiFi is the one to choose if remote monitoring is what will get you smoking more often. If you cook in bigger batches, the Masterbuilt 40-inch Digital gives far more room, and if you never want an app, the 30-inch Digital with legs offers similar space with a window instead.
