The Slate GP 56 cm is Weber's tabletop gas griddle, a flat top built for breakfasts, smash burgers, stir fries and fish. It suits a household that already has a grill, or wants a plancha instead of one, and likes the idea of a non-stick enamelled surface rather than bare steel that needs seasoning. Two independent heat zones are its key strength.

Our take
The cooking surface
The plate measures 56 x 41 cm and has a non-stick enamel coating. Weber says this stops food sticking and makes cleaning easier, which is the main difference from raw carbon steel flat tops that you season with oil over time. The maker states the surface goes beyond 260 °C, enough for a hard sear on burgers or scallops.
Weber also claims even heat distribution right to the edge. That matters on a griddle, where cool corners can leave half a batch of pancakes pale.
Two zones in practice
There are two burners with a combined 4,680 W, each with its own control. Run one high for searing and the other at medium for keeping cooked food warm or gently frying onions. That is a simple setup, but it covers most griddle cooking.
A removable grease tray is listed among the features, so fat has somewhere to go.
Size and placement
The unit is about 81.5 cm wide, 57.5 cm deep and 25 cm tall and weighs 23.9 kg. Adjustable feet help level it on an uneven patio slab or a camping table. You will need a sturdy, heat-resistant surface to stand it on.
The listing does not say whether a hose and regulator come in the box, so check before your first cook.
Compared with Forge Adour
The Forge Adour Origin G75 offers more power at 7,500 W over three burners and an enamelled cast iron plate that reclines, but it weighs more and the listing does not give its plate size. The Forge Adour Origin G60 is the two burner equivalent at 5,600 W. Weber's advantage is a clearly stated plate size and the non-stick enamel finish.
Verdict
Pick the Slate GP 56 cm if you want an easy-clean flat top with two zones and clear specifications. If you cook for bigger groups and want a heavier cast iron plate, look at the Forge Adour Origin G75, or the Forge Adour Origin G60 for a two burner French alternative.
