Our take
What Weber changed
The listing calls this a modern evolution of the Original Kettle, citing the One-Touch Cleaning System, longer legs and enhanced stability. The porcelain-enamelled lid and bowl are described as rust-resistant and able to withstand high temperatures without cracking or peeling.
An angled lid hook lets you hang the lid on the side while grilling, and integrated tool hooks keep utensils close.
Air control and putting the fire out
Weber mentions adjusting the damper to control temperature without lifting the lid, and closing it completely to cut off oxygen and extinguish the coals. That last point is practical: shut everything down after cooking and the remaining charcoal goes out, ready to relight next time.
A lid thermometer appears in the item highlight but not in the bullets, so check whether your unit includes one.
Grate, size and parts
The specs list a single-level grate with 2,464 cm² of cooking surface, a weight of 12.8 kg and dimensions of about 67 x 65 x 107 cm on a tripod stand with wheels. The grate has no hinged sections or GBS centre. That keeps things simple for direct grilling, but on a long indirect cook you will need to lift the whole grate, food and all, to top up the coals. For most weekend burgers, sausages and chicken, that is not an issue.
Weber lists ten years of EU spare part availability and a ten-year limited warranty, both strong for a base model. Assembly is required.
Base model against the upgrades
The Original Kettle Premium 57 cm adds a lid thermometer and lid and bowl dampers, at 13.6 kg. The Master-Touch Premium E-5770 brings a folding stainless GBS grate for refuelling and inserts at 24 kg. The Performer Deluxe GBS puts a kettle on a 35 kg cart with a closed ash box.
Verdict
The E-5710 suits anyone who wants the classic Weber kettle with easy ash removal and long parts support, and does not need extras. If you want a thermometer confirmed, the Original Kettle Premium 57 cm is a small step up, and regular smokers will get more from a folding-grate Master-Touch.
