The Performer Premium GBS takes the 57 cm Weber kettle and builds a workstation around it. It is aimed at people who grill often enough to want a proper prep surface beside the bowl, and who are happy to give up patio space for it. The feature that defines it is the integrated folding work table, paired with an extra large ash collector you empty with a single handle.

In its favour
- A folding work table gives proper prep space, unlike a standalone kettle.
- An extra large ash collector is emptied with a single handle, says Weber.
- Two char baskets make it easy to switch between direct and indirect set-ups.
Good to know
- At 48 kg and 126 cm wide it takes far more room than a plain kettle.
- The listing does not give the cooking area in cm², so rely on the 57 cm size.
Our take
What the listing describes
Weber's wording is that the Performer brings all the benefits of the Master-Touch GBS and adds a folding work table. That means the Gourmet BBQ System grate, with its removable centre for insert accessories, is part of the package. Two char baskets are included so you can bank coals to one side for indirect cooking or push them together for a hot zone.
An optimised lid holder tucks the lid away while you work, so you are not hunting for somewhere to rest a hot dome.
Footprint and weight
This is the big practical consideration. Amazon lists the Performer at 126 x 72 x 102 cm and 48 kg, more than three times the weight of the Original Kettle. It is a permanent fixture for a patio rather than something you move around the garden every weekend. Measure your space, and think about where it will live over winter.
The listing does not give a cooking area in square centimetres. Since it uses the 57 cm bowl, expect a grate of the same diameter as the other full-size Weber kettles.
Cleaning and day-to-day use
Weber says the revamped ash collector is extra large and can be worked with one handle, so emptying it is a single movement rather than a fiddle with a shallow pan. The two char baskets make it easy to set up direct and indirect zones without extra kit. Assembly is required, and with a cart and table involved, expect a longer build than a plain kettle.
Compared with its Weber siblings
The Master-Touch GBS E-5750 gives you the same GBS cooking system in an 18 kg kettle with no work station, which suits smaller patios. The Performer Deluxe GBS sits on a cart too but, according to its guide card, uses a closed ash box. If you mainly want smoking extras, the Master-Touch GBS Premium E-5775 includes a smoking kit and keeps the kettle shape.
Verdict
The Performer Premium GBS is for regular grillers with space to spare who want prep room and easy ash handling built in. If your patio is small or you need to move the grill, the Master-Touch GBS E-5750 offers the same grate system in a far lighter kettle, and smoking fans may prefer the Master-Touch GBS Premium with its kit.
